Driver Complaint – Water ingress into the front passenger compartment, wet patches around the tops of both inner “A” pillars on the roof lining. Cause – The seal between the sunroof cassette and the roof panel degrades and separates leaving the joint open. Rectification Route – The manufacturer recommends the complete removal of the head liner to allow access to the roof cassette. It is possible to raise the cassette without removing the liner fully. Remove the sun roof glass and the trim fitting around the aperture, carefully lower the liner to gain access to the cassette securing bolts, remove the two drain tubes from the cassette housing at the front corners and raise the cassette. Clean away the old seal and bed the cassette down using a suitable sealer. Before refitting the glass panel, if the hinge mounting guides are of the removable type (depending on build dates), also remove and reseal both.
