We have just serviced a 2017 Fiat 500 and discovered that we are unable to re-set/extinguish the 'Service' light. I have checked with our diagnostic equipment (TEXA NEMO) supplier who tells me that Fiat have illegally blocked access to this for non-franchised dealers. They have also explained that other manufacturers (Audi, BMW & Volvo for instance) are also restricting access to some of the systems on newer vehicles. Had anyone else come up against this problem, and more importantly, does anyone know of a way around it?

Hello both, I know this was posted a while ago now but have had a few calls regarding this on the Technical Helpline. Unfortunately it can only be reset with a "suitable Diagnostic" tool. (see info below). The service interval cannot be reset manually. Resetting can only be carried out with a suitable diagnostic unit. Hope this helps! James.
