'All new Volvos sold via our approved dealer network will come with a service book. Any dealer completing a service, Volvo approved or independent, can stamp the book accordingly. Volvo approved dealers will also record the service on our central computer system and retain detailed records on site.

Please note however that a stamp in the book isn’t sufficient to confirm that the service has been completed correctly. We would recommend that if a customer uses an independent dealer, they ensure that they retain service/parts invoices to prove that the recommended work has been completed and that the correct parts/fluids are used. They may be required to produce such information if a warranty claim were made. If however a Volvo dealer is used for servicing, as per the text above, the dealer is required to retain these records.'
