We are struggling with the above vehicle, having been RMI members for a while we have been persuaded to give the forum a try so here goes. Our customer presented a 2006 X type Jaguar 2 Ltr Diesel with an engine code of AJDI4.The original symptoms were Engine Management Light ON,Car smoking and general poor performance. The Air Flow Sensor and EGR Valve were replaced in line with Fault Code results from our Snap On diagnostic equipment. This action has rectified both the Poor Performance and Smoking Issues. There is however a significant problem left with starting as follows:- When cold the engine always starts as it should. When warm or in between temperature the engine will crank over and over then eventually start but without any throttle response for around 20 seconds, after which the fault disappears completely( ie throttle works normal). We would welcome any advice from colleagues who may have come across this problem.Thank you in anticipation.

Hi, I know this is a bit of an old listing, but did you ever resolve this problem?
If not may be worth going over the EGR side again, maybe a sticking unit preventing it from passing air or allowing too much recirculated exhaust gas into the inlet preventing it running or accelerating. Maybe once it runs a while it frees off /forces open with the induction air pressure and resolves the issue.
If you do resolve, please post your findings so others can learn.
