OK, maybe this is something the RMI could be helping advise us all on, but as the contract for our supplied MOT computerisation equipment is about to end, we all need to buy our own equipment so we can carry on testing. My questions are: What computer equipment are people favouring? Are you staying with a desktop PC as before, or are you going for something more portable so it can be carried to the vehicle (easier to enter vehicle details directly instead of remembering them/writing them down and walking back to the PC. If you have gone for something portable, have you chosen something that's durable (and expensive) like a Tuff Book LapTop or gone for something more easily replaceable like a cheap tablet type device. I'm sure we're not the only ones trying to decide what to do, hopefully some discussion between members will benefit everyone? Alastair

Hi all my opinion is stick with what we know desk top most of us will have them all ready. Just remember we work in a dirty atmosphere and computers don't like that fixed stations are more likely to stay in one piece tablets are easy broke and expensive good luck
