Good Morning Nigel,
Suspect this is 2 faults unrelated to each other. The DPF additive one relates to the sensor signal for the fuel filler cap, check live data to verify that the system sees the removal and refitting of the fuel cap. Likelihood is that the system thinks the cap is off all the time and common issues include defective sensor at the top of the fuel filler neck, incorrect fuel cap / incorrectly fitted fuel cap and damaged wiring from the control unit up to the fuel filler neck top sensor. Once you clear the fault on the cap (P2408) the other code (P1435) should clear.
As for the boost fault code (P0238) again, check live data to see what the boost readings are doing, code indicates high boost but verify this on live data readings and investigate accordingly. Verify operation of the boost control system which will vary dependent upon the type of turbo fitted. As we are sure you are well aware Variable Vain units suffer from sticking units, so check any external links for free movement and if possible verify activation using diagnostic equipment.
If you need any more information feel free to get in touch with full details including engine code and we will see if we have access to any specific test values or wiring diagrams for you.
Hope this helps, as always let us know what you find.
Regards, RMI Technical Team
