Hi folks,

Can anyone give me any ideas or explain the codes. I have a 2002 Mondeo which at times when driving just dies in power and stops - not all the time but every now and again- have got the following codes but need to know in non mechanic terms what it actually means:

P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Malfunction (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

P1211 Open TP sensor circuit.

Cheers Brian

P1211 Injector control pressure - pressure high/low possible cause - Wiring, injector, ECM

Common causes with Diesel variants are air in the fuel supply, fuel contamination, restrictions in the low pressure fuel delivery.

Also, the location of the ECM is such that it can suffer from water ingress to the harness and unit, so make sure the wiring and connections are good to the ECM. Load testing and continuity checks of the wiring between ECM and injection pump may also be worthy checks followed by ensuring the vehicle has the latest engine management software installed, correct injector coding and checking injector leak off prior to getting too heavily involved or replacing anything drastic.

Hope this helps, keep us updated of your findings.
