Just had a call from a member asking about a 2006 Ford Focus C-Max with 1.6 Petrol engine, 5 speed manual gear box (B5 / IB5 ) which is difficult to get reverse. We have no known concerns and the caller had already spoken to the Ford Technical helpline who had also advised the caller of no known concerns. The member has subsequently called back to advise that they have removed the reverse light switch and found that the gear selection is normal. They have identified that the switch sticks when pressed manually and they consider that the sticking switch may be preventing the gear selection mechanism from moving sufficiently to allow full gear selection. Hopefully replacing the reverse light switch will resolve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this on any Ford or other vehicles? edited by MichaelB on 04/06/2013
