Driver Complaint – ABS warning light illuminated.
Cause/Symptom – Fault codes stored in the system 5E20 and 5E24 pointing to a problem with the ABS pressure sensor.
Rectification Route – The pressure sensor is an integral part of the main ABS unit. The dealer had quoted for a complete new unit at a cost of around £1500.00. There is a repair kit now available from BMW subject to a VIN number match that costs around £150.00 and takes around 1 hour to fit. In this instance the replacement kit was fitted and the fault was rectified.
