Driver Complaint –Bad idle and poor performance after injector or engine ECU replacement. No trouble codes stored in the ECU memory.
Cause/Symptom – Injector flow adjustment not carried out. Each injector has to be programmed after ECU or injector replacement.
Rectification Route – The injector code (IMA) is on each injector, using suitable diagnostic equipment each injector must be coded to the engine ECU. Failure to recode the injectors means the engine management system will hold the wrong flow characteristic for the new injectors, this will result in inefficient combustion.
