Driver Complaint – Warning message in facia display engine malfunction/brake light not working.
Cause/Symptom – Brake light fuse blown (fuse 42 15 amp), when replaced the fuse blows again after a short period of time.
Rectification Route – Fault was located to a short circuit in the rear lamp bulb carrier plate. Rework all the contacts on the carrier plate and in the wiring loom multi plug to ensure there are no bad or cross connections. If there is any indication of corrosion the carrier plate should be replaced.
