Driver Complaint – Safety Restraint System warning light illuminated.
Cause/Symptom – Fault code DF065 stored in memory.
Rectification Route – DF065 indicates a fault with the driver’s seat position sensor or associated wiring. On this vehicle there is a two stage air bag system fitted that is controlled by the position of the seat, the sensor is located under the seat belt pre tensioner and measures the position of the seat. The SRS ECU receives the signal and controls the release of the air bag according to how close the seat is to the steering wheel. Check the wiring from the sensor, in this instance the caller to our helpline found the wires had fractured at the switch, the wiring was repaired and the code was removed from the system.
