1. Recommended tools
Suitable Diagnostic Equipment
Ensure safety and cleanliness procedures are adhered to.

2. Forced regeneration of the particle filter

Start the engine and allow it to run at a temperature (60 °C minimum).
Connect the diagnostic tool to the diagnostic socket.
Trigger the regeneration cycle using the diagnostic tool.

Automatic operation of the particle filter regeneration cycle will commence under control of engine ECU as follows.

Stabilisation of engine speed at 4000 rpm with post injection.
Change to idling speed (for 30 seconds).
Stabilisation of engine speed at 3000 rpm checking the efficiency of the particle filter regeneration.
Change to idling speed.
Leave the engine running at idle to cool down
Stop the engine
