Driver Complaint – Intermittent no start.

Cause/Symptom – MIL light on and fault code 01176 stored in system. Signal loss from key transponder to immobiliser control module.

Rectification Route – If available substitute ignition key for a spare, if still the same symptoms check the wiring for continuity from the ignition read coil up to the immobiliser module behind the instrument cluster. Our caller to the helpline confirmed that there was a loose connection on the multiplug to the rear of the instrument cluster housing.
