Driver Complaint – Lack of power and Engine Management Light illuminated.
Cause/Symptom – On reading the memory fault code P0236 stored, indicating a problem with the Map Sensor or the Turbo Charger Boost Pressure Sensor.
Rectification Route – On this occasion the caller to our helpline followed the guidance of the fault code and found no issues with the listed components. He investigated further and discovered that the EGR valve was heavily contaminated and completely seized in the closed position. The EGR was cleaned and refitted, the code removed and after a road test the fault was cleared.
