Driver Complaint – Vehicle went into limp home during road test after being serviced.

Cause/Symptom – Code P1901 recorded in the engine control unit, indicating a problem with the exhaust gas pressure sensor.

Rectification Route – Check for blocked hoses/leaks to the exhaust gas pressure sensor and also check the wiring continuity from the sensor back to the ECU terminals 36,37 and 44. If all these check out carry out a forced regeneration of the particulate filter using suitable diagnostic equipment before replacing the sensor. The caller to our helpline confirmed the forced regeneration in this instance fixed this particular vehicle.
