CAUTION: This procedure requires opening the cooling system when hot. Take appropriate precautions to avoid scalding when opening the cooling system.

1) Remove both coolant and engine oil filler caps, remove the cover below the caps. Refit the oil filler cap. Lift the ring on the bleeder valve. On vehicles equipped with A/T remove fuse B1. This fuse operates a pneumatically controlled coolant shut off valve. Coolant shut off valve MUST BE opened for bleeding the system.
2) On all models, fill with coolant to bottom edge of filler neck. Start engine and allow to idle. Increase engine speed moderately a few times and top up with coolant as required. Ensure coolant temperature does not exceed 176 F (80C) NOTE: Level warning light may illuminate during the bleeding process.
3) Install coolant filler cap. Increase engine speed to 2500 RPM and hold until the thermostat opens. Ensure coolant return and supply lines at front wheel housing are hot. Allow engine to run at 2500 RPM for an additional 5 minutes. Every 30 seconds BREIFLY increase engine speed to 5000 RPM
4) Interrupt the procedure if the coolant level falls below minimum mark. Open the reservoir with extreme caution and allow the pressure to escape until the coolant level reaches the lower edge of the filler neck. Top up coolant as required and repeat step 3.
5) Reduce engine speed to idle and run until cooling fans cycle once then turn engine off. Open reservoir slowly with caution until system is depressurised. Top up coolant as required.
6) Lower ring on bleeder valve to its original position. Install cover below caps and refit coolant and oil filler caps. Refit fuse B1.
