Some of you will no doubt be using your J2534 compliant diagnostic equipment in "pass-through" mode making connections via the manufacturer's website.
We are aware that one of the potential problems relates not to the vehicle or the diagnostic equipment but the way that the websites are coded.
Most manufacturer websites use "Java" to provide the pass through service but this is highly version dependent - and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. As a result, it is best NOT to update to the latest version of Java and if you already have updated to version SE7, you are probably best advised to revert to version SE6 to ensure maximum compatibility with manufacturer websites.
Vauxhall's (GM) website (which is highly "independent friendly") is a good example of a site which will not allow a J2534 pass through connection on a computer with Java version SE7 edited by Terry Gibson on 16/10/2013
