Hi, Ive got an issue with a Kia Seed regarding poor starting due to battery going flat, carried out investigation and found battery not charging. Replaced alternator and appeared ok. Vehicle soon reappeared with same fault so supecting a dodgy alternator i replaced the alternator again and still no luck... Anyone had the same problem? Thanks

This type of defect can be common on 'Smart Charge' systems where incompatible aftermarket alternators are fitted, also the wiring between engine ECU and the alternator can be problematic, however we have no specific feedback for the Kia range.

Has anyone else had charging issues on any later model Kia systems?

Hi, we managed to sove this issue and found that the earth wire from the alternator to the earth point behind the O.S headlight corrodes and causes the problem. We cleaned the earth point and problem sorted. I also searched the internet and found several people with the same issue and rectified the problem with this earth point.
