Driver Complaint – Driver reported poor performance and engine management warning light illuminated.
Cause/Symptom – Fault code P0400 indicating EGR gas flow problem recorded in memory. The description of the fault cause could point you to replacing the EGR or even the engine ECU.
Rectification Route – In this instance the EGR valve was removed and all deposits were cleaned from the exhaust manifold and also from EGR valve body including the ports. The EGR was refitted, the fault code removed and after a good road test the fault was reported to be removed.
