Driver Complaint – ABS warning light illuminates intermittently.

Cause/Symptom – DF006 and DF009 recorded in the ABS system.

Rectification Route – DF006 front left wheel sensor and DF009 rear left sensor codes suggest a fault with the sensors or associated wiring. In this case the caller to the help line had tested the sensors and carried out wiring continuity checks back to the ABS control module and at this stage found no fault. The fault was located to a bad earth, there are two earth cables secured with 1 bolt adjacent to the hydraulic unit and although the bolt was tight when undone a build up of corrosion was found between the terminal and the body causing high resistance. When cleaned and refitted the fault codes were removed from the ABS control module memory, and a road test confirmed the fault to be cleared.
