Fiat 500 Service Lamp Reset

We have just serviced a 2017 Fiat 500 and discovered that we are unable to re-set/extinguish the 'Service' light. I have checked with our diagnostic equipment (TEXA NEMO) supplier who tells me that Fiat have illegally blocked access to this for non-franchised dealers. They have also explained that other manufacturers (Audi, BMW & Volvo for instance) are also restricting access to some of the systems on newer vehicles.
Had anyone else come up against this problem, and more importantly, does anyone know of a way around it?

Replacing Smoke Test Equipment - Notifying the DVSA

We have been asked by a member if it is necessary to notify the DVSA when replacing a Diesel Smoke Meter.

The MOT Testing Guide - Requirements for Authorisation - Premises & Equipment states:

3. .........................................................The renewal of mobile testing equipment does not have to be notified to DVSA provided that the replacement is on the current DVSA approved list and will not affect the range of vehicles that can be tested.

So, although notification is required for replacement/alteration of/to fixed test equipment, the only requirement for mobile equipment is that it is on the approved list.

The current DVSA approved list is maintained by the Garage Equipment Association and can be found here:

Hello.

I contacted Toyota yesterday relating to ability to record service records when carried out outside the Toyota network.
The response is as follows.

If your vehicle has been serviced outside of the Toyota Network these will not be displayed on your My Toyota account and the service book will be the only way of recording these services.
I hope this information is of assistance to you and thank you for contacting Toyota.

Your local Toyota Center Parts Department will be able to order a service book for you.

As you are aware things are always changing, the above was the reply at this time.

Hope this helps.

L/ROVER DEF 90 at low speed or after a sudden jolt the ABS pump goes on and so does the traction control light. It does not occur at normal speed. It is pump operated , there are no fault codes, no earth problems , sensors are checked and seem to be fine and there is no play in the king pin. Any help greatly appreciated.?

OK Gordon, thank you for your prompt reply and useful suggestion. If this is all that I can do to remedy the situation that I will do as you have suggested. It's a bit frustrating as I can't understand why the record didn'tsave in the first place.

Hi there is no way to add a previous service record to the system, it does not allow back dating of records. All manufacturer DSR systems have the same operating principle to add service record at the time of service. The only way to add the missed record is as a current date but with an explanation and correct dates within the comment area on the last section of a service entry. This is not ideal but at least the record would be available to view and print.

Sorry, it's me again!
Is there a way to retrospectively add a record to the Audi DSR system? We have just serviced a regular customers car and have discovered when entering the detail of this service, that for some reason the previous service has not been recorded!
An explanation of how to do this would be appreciated and I thank you in advance for your help.

We have a Ford Ranger 2016 year, about once every 3 Month will not start, Leave for 20min starts & some times uneven running, but no fault code.
Came up once with CPS Fault, Fitted new made no difference.
Engine still takes 2-3 month before fault occurs again, Vehicle still under Ford Warranty, Has be back to Ford twice, Not able to reproduce Fault.

Hi,
I have accessed the BMW AOS system from here using the BMW download guide and gained access to the service history section. using a Company Chassis number have been able to see the vehicles service history and ability to enter a new service record.
The system appears to be the same in layout and I had no issues. If you are following the guide I am not sure what is happening at your end. I would try and access the system again and if possible from another computer to see if full access can be gained. It is possible with your recent computer system issues that the add on to Chrome may be causing a problem or there is a possibility that your computer operation is affected in some way.

Gordon.

Last week I followed the instructions for your downloads section to gain access to the BMW AOS system so that we could record BMW services on thier system. I thought I had entered a service but going back into the system today (so that I could write my own notes on the procedure) the system appears to have changed!
I have eneterd the same vehicle details that I used last week, an the system tells me that there are no services recorded for this vehicle, plus I can see no way to enter a new service record!
It could well be that I am making a fundamental error in what I am doing (I'm still flumoxxed after sorting out the problems I had with Mercedes!), but if I could please be pointed in the right direction I would appreciate it, so thanks in advance.
